Cant login anymore

Whenever I try to join, it shows logging in and after a while it will give me an error - "Unexpected packet received during startup login process". It started last night when I was playing on a parkour map and I started getting the same error in chat just before a server reboot after which I have been unable to login since. I have restarted minecraft several times as well as my laptop and my router. However nothing has worked. Plij help I am on 1.8.9

Hello! Unfortunately there is an issue that seems to be affecting players using 1.8 and preventing them from logging in. This has been reported, and will hopefully be resolved ASAP!
